The rate, every fee and each due date sit in front of you before you sign. Say no and you owe nothing.
How we think about it
A loan should feel like a car you have test-driven.
You know the price, the payments and the end date before the keys change hands.
Reading an offer
The five numbers to look for
Federal rules make lenders spell these out. Read them the way you would read a sticker in a car window.
| APR | Interest plus fees, expressed as a yearly rate. On short loans this figure is often steep and can go past 200%. |
|---|---|
| Finance charge | The dollar amount borrowing will cost you, in total. |
| Payment dates | When each payment is due and how much it is. |
| Penalty fees | What happens, in dollars, if a payment is late or bounces. |
| Extensions | Whether you can push the loan out, and the extra charge for doing so. |
We have no say in rates or fees; each lender and each state sets its own. Take only the amount your next few paychecks can cover.

Asked often
Straight answers
What is the most I can ask for?
Requests run from $100 up to $5,000. Lenders sometimes counter with a smaller amount once they have looked at your details.
Does sending a request hurt my credit?
A lender may pull your credit while it reviews the request, and the way it checks is explained before you accept anything.
When would the money show up?
It depends on the lender and on your bank. If you are approved, some lenders send funds the next business day, and the offer states the date.
Who is eligible to apply?
Adults 18 and over who live in the US, have regular income, hold a checking account in their own name, and can be reached by phone and email.
I have poor credit. Is it worth trying?
Lenders we work with look at every credit profile. A low score may narrow the choices or change the terms, and nobody can promise approval, but it does not bar you from asking.
Am I borrowing from SedanFinance?
No. SedanFinance refers requests and lends nothing. Any loan you take is between you and the lender, on that lender's terms.
Sound familiar?
Most requests start with one of these.
- IThe brakes started grinding.
- IIA deposit is due on a new place.
- IIIThe power bill doubled in a cold snap.
- IVA vet visit nobody planned for.
- VHours got cut for two weeks.
- VIA flight home on short notice.
Five minutes, then you will know where you stand.
Ask for anywhere between $100 and $5,000. Sending the request is free, and nothing binds you until you sign a lender's agreement.
